Accredited Tree Surgeons

At RTT Services we are accustomed to working in environmentally, Ecology sensitive areas with a variety of equipment and substances, it is because of this that we ensure to prioritise the correct use and disposal of any materials that may have an adverse effect on our surroundings.

To reduce our carbon footprint we ensure that no engines are left running unnecessarily, all blades are kept sharp and clean to guarantee they are as efficient as possible and we use biodegradable chainsaw oil to make sure that any spray caused whilst operating our equipment is harmless to the surrounding areas.
Due to the nature of our works, whether it be smaller domestic works or large site clearances, we are accustomed to dealing with large amounts of waste materials. It is important to us that we make sure all waste is dealt with appropriately depending on the waste in question. In the event that our customers wish to retain any leftover timber we cut and stack these appropriately or, we will dispose of the waste using the most suitable methods depending on the material. Larger timber will be sent to a local sawmill or used to produce firewood for the local community.
Woodchipping and Biomass Services
Timber that is unsuitable for firewood will be chipped into the appropriate grade biomass chip fuel for biomass boilers which provides a greener, renewable source of fuel which can again be sold to the local community. Finally, any remaining waste such as brash will be turned into mulch to be used as fertiliser for gardens or farmland.
The environments in which we work are often surrounded by and populated by wildlife. In accordance with the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981), all tree works should be planned to avoid any disturbance to bat roosts or breeding or nesting birds. It is also an offence to intentionally disturb, injure or kill any listed animals. At RTT Services we prioritise the welfare of animals when planning any works and ensure all employees adhere to these laws. To support and encourage the wildlife that resides in these environments we use a variety of techniques and equipment. As a service we can install bat boxes, we will also inspect all trees prior to works during nesting season. Reptile fencing will be used as a preventative to form a boundary around a property either to keep wildlife in or out, in doing so we can stop these species from accessing busy areas with heavy machinery such as building sites to prevent harm to any reptiles and to stop any disturbance to ongoing works.
Habitat piles are constructed using materials produced from land management activities and storm debris. They are designed to optimize wildlife use. They are built with small trees, limbs, and boughs. Wildlife such as birds, voles, squirrels, rabbits, frogs, snakes and insects use pile as dens or nesting spots to shelter from bad weather, escape predators and to nest.
